Game Consoles - Sony Dreamcast controller does not work, customer service is poor

i have a dreamcast and i bought a green controller

now the first time i played a game with it the frist thing the screen says is controler unplugged now i cant play my dreamcast

and sega websites arent helping me they are not answering my questions
