In August of 1999 I closed out the lease on my old Nissan and leased a new one from Nissan of Olathe, Kansas. I asked up front if there would be any additional charges.

They advised me that there would not be anything else. Just drive it away and make the new payments. Approximately 60 days later I received notice from Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation that I owed an additional $4,467.03 in additional charges.

After several months of being passed from the dealership to NMAC and back, trying to resolve the problem, filing complaints with Nissan, etc. I thought the problem was resolved.

Recently, I checked my credit report and found that NMAC had written off the charges(apparently because they knew something was amiss, or they would still be trying to collect from me),but they filed it as a negative on my credit report.

After several more conversations and being passed around, I still have been unable to resolve the problem. I would never recommend that dealership or Nissan to anyone.

I currently have leases on a Toyota Forerunner and a Saturn, and have had no problems with them.

They have been upfront and honest.
