The Maytag Neptune washing machine is the worst, most disappointing purchase my family can remember. Touted as the best washer on the market, my parents' machine is today, 4 years later, useless. My parents chalk it up to "live and learn", but I am irate. A $1000 washer that doesn't last more than 4 years?! It's ridiculous :-( The unit may be out of warranty, but that doesn't change the fact they sold us a defective appliance. Their machine suffered the same failure as many other Maytag Neptunes: the door switch and circuit board failure. Maytag's response to my mother's phone call was a big yawn. My mother mentioned that their ads claim Maytags are super dependable. The "customer service" rep on the phone responded with something to the effect of "you shouldn't believe what you see on tv." What an idiot. In short I beg anyone who reads this to avoid buying a Maytag Neptune washing machine. Also, their inability to stand by their products is a strong reason to avoid all Maytag products. My large family certainly will. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Thursday, 28-Aug-03 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
