RE: NCO Financial Services Inc., Montreal, Canada - threatened by colletion agency On August 25, 2003, I received a call from a rude CSR by the name of Heather - from the Montreal office of NCO Financial Services Inc., asking me if I was Mr. X, after acknowledging that I was, she said I owed Columbia Records a total of $145.00 - for an order that was placed on Feb 18, 2003, to which I replied with an emphatic "NO I Don't " ( I explained to her that this order was placed after I had moved from one geographical area to another on January 31, 2003 - therefore I could not have placed this order and was not responsible for its payment).......

she immediately followed with " if you don't pay this amount - I will enter this information into your credit report" I than proceeded to ask her if this was going to affect my credit rating and she "Heather" replied that indeed it would.

Heather without asking any civil questions with this regard became quite insolent and after a few words were exchanged , I asked to speak with her supervisor, Mr. B requested more information which I gave and he suggested I call Columbia to see how this matter could be resolved. Today I called Mr. B to inform him of what I was asked to do by Columbia and was done and this was accepted.

Consumer beware! - no one has the right to talk to you over the phone and demand of you any personal information; there is no law anywhere in Canada that forces the 'Consumer' to give out any kind of information to anyone. I am tempted to seek legal advice with regards to the above - in essence I was being intimidated by Ms. Heather - which is punishable by Law.........................any comments ??
