Sagamore Hotel, Lake George, NY - poor wedding experience

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on August 26, 2003:

RE: Sagamore Hotel, Lake George, NY - poor wedding experience

I spent one year planning every minute detail for my daughter's wedding at the Sagamore Hotel in Lake George New York. They are supposed to be one of the "premiere" wedding spots in the country.

The wedding cake was not decorated as directed, there was no air conditioning on and it was 80 degrees in the room, the waiters kept dropping trays and food on people, no one directed people into the room where the wedding was to be held, I asked for a specific receptacle for the wedding cards (if they did not have it, I was going to provide it) and did not get it.

Tthe food for the bridal party for the cocktail hour was completely insufficient and to make matters worse when I complained to the management they basically blamed us for the lack of air conditioning and took no responsibility for the disaster my daughters wedding turned out to be.

At the cost of over $50,000, I am outraged!! They took off a total of $1300.00 from the bill with no assumption of any responsibility for what happened. Edie Comito
