Oldsmobile Siloette Premere 2001 wheels - wheels are defective

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on August 26, 2003:

The wheels on GM 2001 Siloette Premere are defective. GM knowing this has developed a system to re-coat the wheels to prevent them from causing flat tires. But GM won’t recall them. In my opinion, GM hopes consumers won’t notice until all warrenty protection expires.

I’ve been a victim. Took the car to Outten Olds Rt. 61 Hamburg, Pa. 610-562-2216. Outten acknowledged a problem that GM has developed a Coating or refurbishing method for. The service manager said he expected they would do something for me to satisfy the problem.

Outten acknowleged GM has developed a corrective application. Outten seemed disappointed that GM refused to fix or replace my wheels. It is obvious GM knows of a serious problem or they would not have conducted research to find a cure for the bad wheels such research is costly but not as much as a recall. These should be recalled.
