RE: Gasoline Prices - tired of high gasoline prices

To whom it may concern: All I ask is for someone to explain to me how the major gasoline suppliers come up with the cost on this fuel??? I grew up in the 70s and 80s when oil reached in to the 40$ a barrel range. At that time I do not remember fuel getting even close to today's prices. Why is it every time something happens such as the recent power outage on the east coast these major suppliers deem it fit to raise the price of gasoline???

Another good example is prior to holidays and weekends all the stations raise their prices significantly. It is like they think the general public is a bunch of morons by making lame excuses as to why they had to raise the prices. I know for a fact oil checks are not increasing anything like the gas prices are. What gives? Find me the right person to vent my frustrations to.

I do realize that taxing is much different today than in years past but I do not believe this is the only reason for such outrageous gas pricing. I am just tired of feeling like I am getting screwed every time I pull into a gas station. I feel there are a lot of people just like myself that live on budgets and these fluctuations really mess up a budget. Thank God our financial institutes do not change our monthly payments like fuel prices. Mike Sweeney
