I bought the Behr clear waterproofing product from Home Depot last year to help maintain my deck. It looked fine and yet not the way it normally would look when I used Thompsons Waterproofing. After a couple of month the deck began to discolor and portions began to wear away dramatically.

Before a year had passed the deck had sections of mustard colored splotches where extra product had been left. The product would not come off with deck cleaning products or bleach and needed to be powerwashed to allow the deck to be waterproofed again without looking disgusting. I had purchased this product because they had offered a rebate of $4.00 a can but they did not rebate that money.

Home Depot had a giant display and their people recommended I try it plus there was a warranty on this product. However the warranty will allow me to get the product replaced and I do not to intend to ever use the waterproofing product again.
