GE Countrywide - Consumer Products - checks presented that were supposed to be returned

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on August 25, 2003:

RE: GE Countrywide - Consumer Products - checks presented that were supposed to be returned This complaint is quite similar to the one of Mr. D.M. Mohunta's dated May 11, 2002.

I had taken a loan from Countrywide for consumer products, which i foreclosed on jan. 2000. I was following it up with the bombay office, who told me that they would contact chennai office and return the cheques. Since i was leaving abroad, i requested them to do the needful ASAP.

Inspite of constant follow-up nothing was done untill i left the country on 5th May 2000 and later i came to know that they had presented these cheques which they were supposed to return it to me. Customer service is very poor when we have to get our monies back.
