Sprint PCS - charged roaming rates in Barstow, CA - this area is supposed to be included in home rate coverage

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on August 24, 2003:

RE: Sprint PCS - charged roaming rates in Barstow, CA - this area is supposed to be included in home rate coverage I have a problem with SPrint PCS charging me and my husband roaming charges when we are in an area that is covered by Sprint PCS. I try to call and talk to a supervisor about it and they say that it is our phone. My husband was in Barstow CA that shows on the Spront PCS web site that area is covered but an Los Angles tour was picking up his signal.

We have to pay for charges when we have no contol over the tour that picks up his signal. I called and talked to two supervisors on 24 August 2003 and when asked to talk to another supervisor that may understand what we are saying and not interupt what we are saying, we were told that there was no one else to talk to and that management doesn't talk to customers.

My husband has been with Sprint PCS for 3 years and we have had to fight with them over everything. I am tired of them trying to blame the customer instead of looking at the bill and seeing that this has occured in that same area before. My husband is in the military and Barstow is an area he has to go for training all the time. The only way we can talk is through the cell phones but Sprint doesn't allow that to happen.
