RE: Bresnan Online - notified that price for broadband Internet service will increase 23% beginning next month

Hi,

This is a complaint against Bresnan Online, a broadband Internet ISP in several western states (a subsidary of Bresnan Communications).

I just received a letter from them stating that my broadband internet rate is rising 23% next month. I do not subscribe to cable TV from them. However, the letter also stated that if I signed up to basic cable they would wave the price increase. This is BS!!

Would you stand for a 23% jump in natural gas or electric rates? Yes, I realize that many view high speed internet as a luxury, but why would a company shoot themselves in the butt by forcing customers to add services they don't want?

I guess I'll have to get used to the idea that broadband internet IS an unaffordable luxury. What a stupid company. In their quest to upsell me, they'll lose a good customer.
