What a shame! What a sham! What a scam! You have taken the "I" out of SCIAM ! I have been reading deeply and following developments in science, and especially theoretical and astrophysics, genetics and cosmology for decades. Imagine my delight in joining the Library of Science Book Club less than a year ago and getting 5 of my most wanted titles for less than the price of one, with the generous requirement that I had only to order one more book during the next 12 months!

Well, the year is not up yet and I finally finished the 5 books, and was just looking forward to finally buying some more. (since I had bought almost a dozen from Borders, at full price, over the previous year before joining the idea of buying only one more was unimaginable). Now imagine my great disappointment and anger when I was billed $64 more for the same 5 books I had received when joining, my account was sent to collection and my membership was unilaterally cancelled before the year was up,!

Either a gross mistake has been made, in which case I demand that it be corrected immediately, or, not only will I never pay a single penny more to your collection mafia, and never join or order another book from you, but I will also cancel my long standing subscription to your magazine, that I had been buying for 45 years. But in addition, I promise you, I will use my new broadband connection to do everything in my power to discredit the book club by relentlessly sending copies of this letter as emails to every internet site that will listen and every one of the 1000 persons on my mailing list.

Then I will have my lawyer find some eager ambulance-chasing prosecutor to sue you for mail fraud! I am deeply disappointed that such a formerly prestigious magazine would be party to betraying a loyal reader by associating themselves with such a low class, bait-cancel-bill SCAM such as has been perpetrated upon me here!
