AOL Shop Direct - purchased one touch visioneer 5800 scanner - followed rebate instructions but denied rebate

i bought a one touch visioneer 5800 scanner on line from aol shop direct. my complaint is in reference to their rebate policy.

i received the scanner pulled off all the mailing label and bar codes both on the scanner and on the outside of the box and mailed them to aol along with a copy of the purchase order.

since then i have received an email stating i did not mail the proper bar code back so i am not eligible for any rebate. i find it interesting i have the scanner i am paying for this scanner but aol refuses to recognize this by telling me i am not eligible for the rebate.

i have tried to email them and have not received any responses. this is the last time i will order from aol. i have also passed this info on to friends and family so they will not be taken in by aol shop .
