RE: Zonk Plus - a product to fix clogged or slow drainage problem - damaged fiber glass tub - didn't fix clog

Dear Sir/Madam: I used the above product couple of days ago to fix a slow drainage problem in my fiber glass bath tub. I followed the instructions on the bottle, which says pour a coup of the product into the clogged pipe, wait 5 min and then turn on the cold water tap for 3 min.

I paid $17.74 for about 900 mm bottle of the product (at least 5 times the price of any other anti clogged product in the market). The product manufacturer is SIPCO Industrial Products Co. Ltd., address: 7236 Winson Ave, Delta, B.C. V4G 1E5, phone: (604) 940-9922, fax: (604) 940-9334. Not only didn't the product fix my problem, it damaged my fiber glass bath tub, in addition to discoloring and staining the rim around the drainage pipe, which was in white color. I was unable to pour the product right into the drainage pipe because I could not take the plug out, which resulted in a small quantity of the product spilling around the drainage pipe.

Although the instructions on the bottle suggested to use a funnel to pour the product into the drainage, because the small opening between the plug and the drainage, it would be impossible to use a funnel and pour the product right into the drainage without spilling a bit of the product around the drainage area.

As a result, spilling a bit of the product would be inevitable in any application by an average, non-professional people. Zonk Plus is NOT a safe product for every day household use. The package does NOT give any warning about non-usage on fiber glass surface, which seems to a popular choice these days for a bath tub. I strongly suggest that the product NOT be used for everyday household usage. Madjid Heydari

Zonk Plus is a first class and highly effective drain cleaner however because the contents are highly toxic, extreme caution is always advised. You cannot pour this product into a drain unless you have clear access to the drain without touching the sink surface. If any of the Sulphuric Acid should touch the surface of the tub or sink surface - immediately wipe up with a dry paper towel.

Do not expose to a wet towel and avoid skin contact.

Plumbers recommend that the product be left sitting in the drain for one hour before flushing.

It WON'T free your clogged drain without the aid of a plunger. You still need to use this after you run clean water down the drain.

Zonk Plus will loosen all the build up inside the pipe with the aid of a good plunger - it will free the blocked drain and give you a clear water flow.

This product has saved me several visits from plumbers having to run a snake through the clean out pipe and a $100.00 bill each time.

Learn how to use Zonk Plus and you will never be disappointed.

north Vancouver; my plumber just used Zonk Plus on clogged drains - left it for 2 hours; then flushed the sinks and used a plunger ; the result ? Bingo- worked like a charm....manufactured in Delta, B.C. Canada; thank goodness.
