RE: Tracfone - phone broke in one week - Office Depot refunded phone cost but can't get money back for pre-paid card from Tracfone
Tracphone:
I purchased a cell phone from Office Depot and purchased a Tracfone card for $100 to go with it. The phone broke with in one week and Office Depot refunded me all my money for the phone. No minutes were ever used. Tracfone will not answer written letters or phone calls regarding my refund request. The only contact you can make with them is with email.
They will NOT stand by their product and refund any money. Now that I see there are so many people with the same complaint, I see the best way to stop this fraud is with the stores. They do care about their reputation even if the Tracfone company does not.
Somehow I will get my money back. I will not stop this easily. I am hoping that the local TV station will take this up. If enough people got their stations to do this the stores would not carry the Tracfone.

I'll try to keep this short. Several years ago, I bought a TracFone and 600 min. The new phone was defective and on returning it they would replace it----they replaced it with a re-conditioned one. I was upset and asked for a refund this was done for the phone, not the min. I never used the phone so I never used the min. I was getting nowhere. My sister poked around the Internet and actually found the e-mail addresses for executive offices. An e-mail was sent to the top person and cc'd to several other top people. I got a full refund for the phone and the time. They called me and apologized then asked what they could do to keep me as a customer. I wanted nothing from them. Here's the rub---that was about 6 yrs. ago and I no longer have the e-mail addresses.--but they are out there all you have do is know how to look for them.

I was in this same situation about 4 yrs. ago. I got the e-mail addresses of the executive officers of Tracfone. (I saw how they set up the addresses and gave it a try) I issued the complaint directly to a few of these officers, including the CEO. I got a full refund for phone and minutes. AND I got a personlal phone call offering an apology. Avoid Customer Service in situations like this, they have no authority.
Since Tracfone is the least expensive phone offer I can find, I got another one and have had no problems since.
