Norton Antivirus 2002 v8.07 I've used Norton Antivirus 2002 v8.07 for close to a year. My husband has been a systems programmer for a major university/med school in our area for 15 years. Yesterday, he lost 2 years worth of files, because his system was infected with 3 viruses that Norton didn't detect.
I suggested he download AVG antivirus (free version), which I also use. It detected and quarantined the infected files. When I searched Google with the specific virus names, guess what page came up? Symantec, maker of Norton.
The article told how to rid a machine of viruses that Norton couldn't even detect! He and I both run Live Update daily, and our Norton was up to date, according to their Live Update site. This morning we purchased the AVG professional edition for $39.00.
The free version runs alongside Norton with no problems, in my experience. I will never depend solely on Symantec alone for virus protection again. From: Message Author (click here to email author) Date: Monday, 05-Aug-02 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
