Eagle Auto Sales, Garland Rd., Dallas TX - paid off car, but still can't get car title

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on August 2, 2002:

I bought a Car from Eagle Auto Sales in Garland TX (DallasTX) 18 months ago have made all my payments and they still cannot get the Title ,

been getting a red tag every 20 days from jan 2001 ,they gave the story about they bought the car lot and the previous owner breaking in and stealing about 60 Titles ,they said it was tied up in court and the man went to jail and guarateed the title by the first of 2002 but guess what still no title ,last week i got a letter from a man claiming he knows of the title situation there and asked me to call him regarding him possably having the title to my car .

Im writing the Texas DOT Consumer Complaint Division before I call this man and Before I let the Car lot know I got that Letter I reconize this mans name from hearing it when we first got the car his name is Sonny Elmore ,he's the one who determined the amount of our trade in on our previous car
