RE: Blockbuster - wouldn't accept personal check from non-member
I visited Blockcuster recently to buy some previewed videos for my son.He was wanting to buy some with the birthday money he recieved.WE picked out more than he had money for,so I went to write a check to them. When I pulled out my checkbook the guy behimd the counter asks me for my membership card.Well when I told him I wasn't a member,he said,"WE can't take a check from you."I said and why not?
He said,"YOur not a member and we are not allowed to take checks from non-members."I told him that was stupid.I told him there is not a sign saying that, and I have a valid driver's license. He said well we can't or we'll get fired.
I told him I write checks all the time all around town and they don't have a problem with my checks. He said,"WEll we don't know you."I told him all the other places don't know me personally either, but they still take my check with a driver's license.
This made me feel very discrimintaed against. Why does blockbuster discriminate against you if your not a member.I don't know of any other business that does.I told him that it was bad customer service and I would never treat a customer this way.I will take my business elsewhere.
I won't tolerate being discriminated against by blockbuster again.I did email the home office and they responded and said they would resolve this issue and contact me again, but this has not happened. So good-bye Blockbuster.
