RE: DirecWay Internet - from DirecTV - slow web surfing - unhappy with service For any of you thinking about the glitzy commercial on DirecTV about DirecWay for your computer, my suggestion is don't even think about it. I went through a month with DirecWay before mercifully I ended this exercise in frustration and futility. DirecWay is more like Pony Express. For the record, I have been with DirecTV from its inception and have always enjoyed it. I figured how could I go wrong with another of their products, but boy was I ever mistaken? After purchasing DirecWay I found surfing the web taking as long as 2 to 3 minutes to go from site to site. I tried everything in the world to speed it up. Finally, they admitted that downloads are fast, but they were aware surfing is kind of slow. I also learned that even though the weather was beautiful where I resided, weather anywhere else in the US knocked out the entire Direc Way system for hours at a time.

 

I canceled the service and even that was an adventure as they left me high and dry to fend for myself. You have been warned.
