Kraft Foods Velveeta shredded cheese - cheese in the bag was not Velveeta

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on August 20, 2002:

RE: Kraft Foods Velveeta shredded cheese - cheese in the bag was not Velveeta

On August 20,2002, I purchased a bag of Velveeta shredded cheese at our local grocery store. Needless to say, the cheese in the bag was not velveeta. I called the comments number located on the bag and stated my complaint to Christopoher.

He wanted to reimburse me for the product. I ask to speak to his supervisor...her name was Carla. I stated my complaint to her. She wanted to send me a voucher to use on any other product of my choice or a refund for the product.

I feel I was mislead. I purchased the velveeta because I like velveeta. When making my complaint, Christopher imformed me that it was not velveeta cheese in the bag. My question is.....How can you sell Velveeta shredded cheese and it not be Velveeta in the bag.

I think because Velveeta is the brand name, and not the product, they can sell anything they want and put Velveeta on it. It's like Kraft has oodles of differen't things, but no one's complaining that it's not cheese.

Ziploc is the Brand name, and they have more than just zip-top bags. See what I'm saying?
