Nova Information Services - credit card processing company - contract stipulated no cancellation fee, but $ 195 taken from account following cancellation

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on August 19, 2002:

RE: Nova Information Services - credit card processing company - contract stipulated no cancellation fee, but $ 195 taken from account following cancellation I feel compelled to let the public know about Nova Information Services; a big company that handles credit card transactions for small businesses.

They get authorization to access your accounts to put credit card deposits in and deduct fees, but, based on my experience, they help themselves to more than that. I cancelled service with them and had a contract that specifically called for no termination fees.

They took $195 out a few months after, and deliberately don't answer calls. I have contacted every consumer agency, and see on the web tha there are other disgruntled customers who have been robbed the same way. Stay away from this company. Warren H Landesberg

Nova merchant services went into my business account and withdrew 796.00 for one transaction made by and through the business owner merchant. Seems that there is no regulated limit to what can be charged for one transaction. The charge was to advance the company a loan by the owner.
