Bank One - online bill payment service - payment made to, but not received by AT&T Wireless
Complaints.com received the following consumer message on August 1, 2002:

I have bill payment service through Bank One. I travel and do not see my bills, so this service has been a life saver. Until recently. In June I discovered that three payments to AT&T Wireless had not been credited to my cell phone account.
The bank says that AT&T cashed the checks and AT&T say they don't know where the money went! And both companies say this is MY problem. I have been working on this for two months and so far no progress has been made. Every time I talk to Bank One, I have to start all over.
The faxes are never sent, the case numbers can't be found, etc. My phone service was disconnected even though AT&T knew that the money was sent. This amounts to $265.00 and I certainly don't want to pay it again.
I am so frustrated with both companies, no one I talk to cares and no one will take responsibility for fixing it or for causing the error in the first place.
