I was informed by one of my customers that there was a complaint on your website. Before posting this complaint, I feel as though my side of the story should have been requested. Here is the real story:

Mr. Delancy and his family have been customers for 25 years and continue to be two years post-complaint. Mr. Delancy had made a reservation in February for July from a Sunday to Sunday in my most expensive room. His father and his brother both sent deposits and he failed to. I held the reservation in good faith since I knew the family. Three days before his arrival he sent me a deposit and instead of a Sunday to Sunday changed his reservation from a Monday to Wednesday, thus causing the room to remain vacant when I, in good faith and reseved his room without a deposit, and could have rented the room causing me to lose money. Wildwood is a seasonal resort and failing to rent a room because of a inconsiderate customer is detrimental to my business.

Therefore his money was sent back to him and he was asked not to patronize my business in the future because of his rudeness and inconsiderate act. His father and other family members continue to be customers because they do get good service and are treated with respect. We treat our customers the way we like to be treated. Donald Delancy Jr. missed his vacation with his family because he failed to send a deposit and he changed his dates at the last minute. The purpose of a deposit is to hold a room for the dates listed, I was not even required to hold the room for him. He was fully aware of my policy as he and his family were customers for many, many years and his family continues to be customers.

I would appreciate his reply being deleted from your site or my reply posted with it. The whole story was not told.

Sincerely,

Rosemary, Shore Plaza Motel

RE: Shore Plaza Motel, Wildwood, NJ - received poor treatment from owners To whom it may concern, I would like complaints.com to know of the shoddy treatment my family recently received from the owners of the Shore Plaza Motel in Wildwood, New Jersey. We had a reservation For August 3 - 10. On July 22, 2002, I called to reduce the number of days we were staying because of work issues. My reservation confirmation slip the Shore Plaza had sent me stated that I could change the reservation up to 10 days in advance of my arrival.

However on the 23rd, I received an overnight letter from Rosemary the Motel's owner canceling my reservation because I reduced the number of days. When I called for an explanation, she was very hostile and rude and hung up on me. My entire family, aunts, cousins, grandparents, parents, etc., come to Wildwood every year for vacation. Even with the three night reduction I was still going to spend over $600 of my hard earned money with the Shore Plaza Motel. But we were thrown to the street by ruthless and greedy owners.

It wouldn't have been a big deal except the rest of my family was staying at the Shore Plaza Motel. So my kids were denied the right to interact with their cousins and grandparents. And that's time they will never get back. Thanks for listening. Disgusted in Pennsylvania, Richard C DeLancey
