Complaints.com received the following consumer message on August 16, 2002:

RE: ABC Warehouse, Findlay, OH - paid over $ 2000 for delivery of a defective TV

 

WE BOUGHT A TV AT ABC WAREHOUSE IN FINDLAY, OHIO 3 WEEKS AGO. WE BOUGHT THE FLOOR MODEL AS IT WAS THE ONLY ONE LEFT. THE SALESMAN TOLD US IF THERE WERE ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT HE WOULD ORDER US A NEW ONE WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

 

WHEN IT WAS DELIVERED THEY COULD NOT GET THE BOTTOM PANEL THAT COVERS THE SPEAKERS TO STAY ON AND SAID IT MAY BE WARPED.

 

THEY FINALLY GOT IT TO STAY ON. THEN A COUPLE DAYS LATER I TRIED TO SHUT OFF THE TV USING THE POWER BUTTON ON THE TV AND THE FRONT FELL OFF AND IT WON'T GO BACK ON. PLUS THE SIDE WAS SCRATCHED.

 

SO WE CALLED THE SALESMAN WE BOUGHT IT FROM AND TOLD HIM ABOUT IT AND WE WANTED A NEW ONE AND HE SAID HE DID NOT TELL US HE SAID HE WOULD GIVE US A NEW ONE.

 

HE SAID WE HAD TO GO THROUGH THE WARRANTY. WE HAVE SINCE SPOKEN TO THE WARRENTY PEOPLE , THE MANAGER OF THE STORE AND THE REGIONAL MANAGER. NO ONE HAS BOTHERED TO CALL US BACK. EVEN THOUGH THEY ALL SAID THEY WOULD WITHIN 24 HOURS. WE ARE HOPING THAT YOU CAN HELP US OUT BECAUSE WE PAID OVER $2000 FOR THIS TV.

Things are still not getting any better at the Findlay ABC Warehouse.

My son started working there almost two years ago and as an ethical human being, he was shocked to see how this company treats its customers.

About a year ago, My cousin purchased a tv and tv stand from my son ($2000) and the tv stand arrived scratched (by the independent delivery service ABC uses). My son's manager jerked my cousin around and NEVER did get her a different tv stand.

This really soured my cousin on the company but on Feb 1 2008 she needed more stuff and since she wanted my son to earn a living, she went back and purchased $5000 more from him (all paid up front in cash - 50" plasma, bose surround sound, etc) and when she called on Feb 13 2008 to find out about delivery of the tv she was told there was no tv for her. She was put on hold and then told, "well, there is one back there with your name on it but it has a broken knob,"

(In the meantime, my son was passed over for a position he had been promised by the store manager and has left ABC Warehouse for more respectable employment.)

My cousin called other ABC warehouse stores in the area and found one (new in the box) at another location. She called the Findlay store manager and he said. "oh , I had no idea they had one" Go Figure

The Findlay store manager then promised to have that one shipped to her within 2 days - but we'll see if gets there all in one piece.

STAY AWAY FROM ABC WAREHOUSE IN FINDLAY OHIO!!!!!!!!!!
