RE: Gympros - paid for equipment July 10, 2002 - unable to contact Gympros on August 13, 2002 - phone cut off
To whom it may concern, I ordered products from a company called Gympros. The order was placed July 10, 2002. Gympros had contacted me through the phone and I knew through their website that they had a large amount of equipment.
I placed and order for a remanufactured Cybex leg extension, and a Cybex leg curl, and an incline/flat bench. I was told that full payment would ensure the remanufacturing process and that I would get delivery of the equipment in 4-6 weeks.
I went to call Gympros on August 13 and found all the numbers diconnected. I looked into it further and found that the business filed bankruptcy. After looking at the complaints on your website I realize the company had a long history of defrauding consumers. The owner of Gympros, responded to several complaints through e mail, as well as the lawyer (at the time) for Gympros responding. I believe the owner knew of the problems the company was having and continued to sell equipment to people, never intending to deliver.
I feel he should be held criminally liable for what has happened to myself and others, because I do not feel that any of the people who lost money will ever receive fell reimbursement.
I have filed with the FCC and the FBI for internet and wire fraud, and am waiting to hear from them. I am contacting a consumer lawyer in California to find what if anything can be done about this matter. I also want to make sure that there is not another company being set up by the same people perpetrating the same scam. If anyone has had any luck prosecuting this company please let me know through e mail or phone calls. Best of health, Paul Frizelle/president Personal Best Fitness
