RE: Sprint PCS cellular service - description of poor experience I am a customer of Sprint PCS cellular. I have had horrible service- everything advertised was untrue. I could never hear people, there was static and echoes. Calls would randomly come through, and the service would frequently die. Many other people I have spoken to who have (had) Sprint feel the same way. After my 1 yr agreement, I tried to cancel on Sept. 30th 2001.

I was offered a new phone, and a new monthly rate with more minutes if I wouldn't cancel. I agreed to try it out and see if the new phone would work better. It did not, and a few months later I called to cancel again. I was offered a new model with a rebate, and additional minutes added on for free to keep me. Again I agreed on a temporary basis to see if it would work.

Now, on August 10th, I called to cancel for good. When I called, I found out that the promise of new minutes, offered the second time I called, had never even been implemented! I was lied to. Then I found out that I am being held to a yearly agreement from Sept. 30th 2001!

I never agreed to another year!! Terms of a contract were never mentioned. I never signed or verbally agreed to this!!! I made a point not to because I was unhappy with the service before, and would never agree to another year! The words "contract" or "year" were NEVER mentioned, either by myself, or the service rep.

I asked them to produce the message because I very strongly deny that I agreed to this. They could not produce it, they just have a "note" by the person who I talked to. There isn't even a contract listed on "my account" online. There is nothing mentioned but the monthly service. I asked to speak to the manager, who of course was "on vacation". Sharon, the person I was speaking to, referred me to the website for complaints (www.sprint.com)...

Where there is clearly no email addresses or phone numbers for anything but investor relations and phone accessories purchase on the entire site. I have heard of Sprint doing things like this before. This cannot continue.

I do not want to pay the $35.99 for next month (to complete the contract on Sept 30th 2001). Nor do I want to pay the $150 cancellation.

$35.99 isn't much, I am aware. This is more of a matter of principle. I have never dealt with such poor service and quality. I have been lied to. False claims have been made, that cannot be substantiated. Why should I pay for that? I have already paid 10 times over, for making the mistake of going with Sprint
