2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 8.1 Engine 4X4 Pick Up - oil usage, enging noise, suspension problems begin at 1624 miles

Purchased new vehicle from dealer in Ripley, WV in January 2001. Vehicle had 478 miles on odometer at time of delivery to us. Started experiencing problems with oil usage, engine pecking noise, and suspension at 1624 miles. Dealer did not seem to take our complaints as beng legitimate.

As of this writing, 8/9/02, truck is parked in our driveway and is not safe to be on the road because of the very bad vibration. Purchased a new Jayco 31' Camping Trailer and we cannot even use it because we do not have a truck we can drive to tow it. Meantime, we are sitting here still making payments on the vehicle. Have talked with everyone at dealership from the salesman that sold it to us, the sales manager, general manager, and owner of the dealership in trying to get this resolved. We have tried working with the GM Area Service Manager but she does not return calls or work with the service tech at the dealership.

After our meeting on July 23, she said she would let us know something in a couple of day. It is now Friday, August 9 and we still have not had a reply from her on our request for a settlement. Have tried to get number for GM but cannot find one and we cannot talk to their rep in person - she works through the dealership. We are trying to avoid going through the Lemon Law which would take, as we've been told, another year which means another year of payments, insurance, etc. on a truck parked in the driveway.
