RE: I had a lemon too - car purchase from Ugly Ducking - 1997 Mazda Protege

In July of 2000 I purchased a car from Ugly Duckling. I bought a '96 Mazda

Prodege. I had that car for about a month and had to replace the water pump.

I informed ugly Ducklikg about the car and they told me that they would pay

for the damages and to give them the bill.

I did and nothing happened. Then a few weeks later my car over heated

and I had to replace the thermostat.

Once again they told me to save the bill and give it to them - the ywould pay for

it.- Eventually after getting numerous repairs on the car I approached them.

I told them the car I had was a lemon and that now I needed a re built engine

which would cost me $4,000. I didn't feel that I should have to pay $4,000 to

get it rebuilt when in fact I only had the car for less than 6 months. I n

Nov. of 2000 the car was in the shop.

I told them I was not going to pay for

the rest of the car until they gave me back the money that I payed for the

repairs. Eventually the car sat in the shop for a month, with no response

from Ugly Duckling. Two months passed and yet still no response. I called

and called and they then told me that I had to speak to another person, and

another person I was getting the run around. Eventually the repair man put

hte car on a lean hoping they would take it out of his hands. Within the 30

days of the car being in the shop in the lean, there was still no response

from ugly duckling till this day, but a reposession notice on my credit.
