RE: Stanley Garage Door openers Take Note! Stanley Garage door openers was sold in 1997 to Whistler. Whistler went bankrupt. The products and the use of the Stanley name was picked up by Interactive Products in Michigan.
They are now bankrupt. These openers are unsafe as the circuit board fails ( I have had 2 in 2 years or the same problem) and forgets how to stop when closing. Someone will surely be injured or killed by this malfunction.
Stanley Tools disavows all responsibility even though they allow their name to continue to be used, and was the main reason I bought this opener.
These are still being sold with a ten year warranty! Buyer beware!
I believe that Stanley needs to step up and at least recall these death trap openers. I have since replaced the opener with another brand for safety's sake , because I have grandchildren that visit me.
