Maytag Neptune Dryer - Noisy Motor burned out

RE: Maytag Neptune Dryer - Noisy Motor burned out

Our Neptune Dryer was extremely noisy from the moment it was installed. Mentioned the noise level to the installer - they said "Do you think it's noisy??" - that was it. Motor burned out at 3 years - service tech said there are two "levels" of motor - starts on two and then goes to one.

When he attempted to get the dryer running he said - "hear how noisy it is, it's running on both levels instead of shutting the one off - that's why it's burning up". It was the same noise it always made. No warrantee on motor - paid out of pocket. Service people said no need to contact Maytag - they "stand by their warrantees".

If they say two years - they mean two years. Nice to know they stand by something.
