RE: NCO Financial Systems - Marlin Intergrated - credit report errors - payments made

I requested a copy of my credit report on March 10, 2003. Upon receipt, I noticed that there where some things

ADDED that i paid off in November. The accounts were considered paid in full by Arrow Financial who bought my account from Bank of America. I contacted the number listed on the account (Marlin Intergrated) and also bought a 3-in-1 credit report online.

The person I spoke with at NCO financial (Marlin Intergrated) told me that in order to have this cleared- I had to send proof of payment. I then disputed the items on the report. After doing this, she informed me that I had only 2 payments left to make one for $38 and the other for $37.29. About 2 weeks later, I c contacted her to update me on the status of the information on my credit report. SHe told me that these things have been deleted. (I knew that they weren't "deleted" and were not going to be. they had to just be updated.)

The credit bureau told me that the information is not updated until at least a month later. I requested my report again on April 8, 2003. Only to discover there was never anything updated or deleted on my report. I contacted the credit bureau to find out about my disputes and they informed me that after doing an investigation, on March 27th they contacted MArlin/ NCO who told them that there was never anything paid. I called the person, APRIL who I was dealing with at NCO and asked her what was going on.

She told me that it shows no payment because it was disputed. HOW RIDICULOUS! SHe also said that it was noted in the file that i would be sending them proof of payment. WHICH I SENT TO HER- so why does she act like she was just reading what someone else wrote? what a knucklehead! She then tells me the credit bureau has to contact them in order for it to be updated.

Well why is that? They contacted you once before and you told them i hadn't paid. So i am in the process of contacting the Philadelphia city attorney and asked NCO for the number to their headquarters. Their response: "we have the address they have no number...

well how do their children contact them at work? how do they call the police in an emergency, how do they run a business with no phone?

MAKE SURE YOU keep all your receipts and copies of checks if you ever pay anything off. Even if its years later!

Thanks for listening.
