RE: Ace Hardware, Milford, DE - $ 45 of rebates denied due to "household exceeding the rebate limit"
Beware of Ace Hardware rebates!!! A couple of months ago my local Ace Hardware, in Milford DE., sent out an advertisement promoting a number of items that would be "free" after the rebate. After purchasing the items AND ASKING STAFF if I was doing everything correctly, I sent in the rebate material.
I received a small rebate and a notice that about $45 worth of rebates were denied because my "household had exceeded the rebate limit." After calling the company and the store I was told that the "limit" was printed on the rebate form (it must have been very small).
It certainly wasn't printed in the advertisement which clearly led one to believe that everything advertised could be had for free with the rebate. (AND the STAFF led me to believe it also.) The store manager was apologetic but said that there was nothing he could do.
Well, I hope that they are happy with the $45 they weaseled out of me. I spend between $500-$1000 a year on various hardware supplies, but not one penny of that will ever go to an Ace Hardware store again.
