Young America / Verizon Rebate - still haven't received $ 100 rebate mailed Feb. 14, 2003

On February 14, 2003, I mailed in a $100 rebate for a Verizon Wireless purchase. I included everything they asked for to get the rebate: Completed form, box upc, an old cell phone in working condition and the sales receipt. Two months later, I get my package back with a letter stating that the UPC was not included. To resolve this I must send everything including the original UPC or they cannot process my rebate. Well, I am very anal!! I personally checked over the complete package several times before sealing, making sure that everything was included. I even took a digital photo of all the contents right before they were inserted into the envelope. With this proof I called their toll free number (1-888-826-4932) and spoke to Tara. She tells me that all I can do is print out my digital photo and send everything back to them but she can't guarantee anything because it's still not the original UPC from the box. So here's my complaint: They are claiming that my UPC was not included and even though I am 100% sure it was, and have more proof then they do to back it up; I now have to go spend more time and money (postage isnt free this time, $8.00 to ship back to them plus printing of the picture) and I am still not guaranteed that I will get my rebate!! Do you really think that I would have a picture of a UPC code and not send the real thing in for $100? As a threat: I am going to spend the money to ship this back. If I don't get my check within 10 weeks I will make sure that I use up your customer service time equivalent to $100. That means I plan on wasting 12.5 hours of your time at $8.00/hr - calling your toll free number. If you don't send it to me, let's hope you don't have any managers making $10-$15 hour, answering the phone!! Thanks, Ryan
