Complaints.com received the following consumer message on April 26, 2002:

On 2/13/2002, I purchased a cellphone & plan. I wanted a plan with NO long distance, roaming & toll charges. Tuan Kieu(sales assoc.) said that the plan I purchaed didn't have any additional charges-Just $29.99 + tax.
When I received my 1st bill-I havd $13.50 in TOLL CHARGES. Called Tuan-he said that was incorrect and he would check into it. Called the next week he was still checking and for me to call Angel (billing) and check with her.
I did and she told me to call MCI (Worldcom) customer service. I called them and they said that charge was from the local phone co. Called Tuan and he said that was a mistake --there should be no charges. He would check into it. Called back on 4/16 and he was still looking into it with his manager. Called back on 4/23 and still no answer and told me to call Angle again.
Called Angel on 4/24 and she said not her problem. I told her and Tuan all I want is to have the cell phone disconnected without any early deactivation fee. Tuan mislead me-he said NO TOLL CHARGES AND STILL SAYS THERE SHOULD BE NO TOLL CHARGES. I hope you can help. Thanks
