Complaints.com received the following consumer message on April 21, 2002:

Rooms to Go gives / SELLS their customer information to a 3rd party for open solicitation telemarketing. The 3rd party company PROVEL (888-522-3643) 'supposedly calls' Rooms To Go customers that have balances due and 'drops' a $94.98 charge to their existing balance.
There is next a specific procession of procedures that the unfortunate Rooms to Go customer who catches the extra charge must go through to successfully clear the 'jammed & hidden charge' from their account. Interesting to note there is a double refund guarantee if Provel can't provide an audio tape of you consenting to the 'greased charge'.
Our dealing with Rooms to Go quickly defaulted to a 2nd and 3rd party relationship. The delay of response (> 2 months) from Provel will be realized until the customer has to re-call. Our contacts and follow-up since February 2002 have resulted in an obvious scam involving unknown responsibility of the 2nd and 3rd party business relationship to Rooms To Go.
We're pursuing the BBB and Dept of Consumer Affairs route for double refund and resolution. Note the Provel people are very rude and you can expect conflicting information regarding a timeframe resolution. Strongly suggest that ALL Rooms to Go customers that have made purchases within the last 4 months review their statements for 'hidden' charges! This is still being pursued to resolution as of 4-21-02.
