Complaints.com received the following consumer message on April 19, 2002:

RE: UTP Digital Directories - Internet Business Guide - didn't ask for service, received bill

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: We received a bill for $960.00 for an Internet Business Guide from UTP Digital Directories (company info. below)! If the publishing house is not notified of any amendment wishes or supplements, the publication will appear in their directory & and we assume receive another bill.

Also, if you do happen to subscribe to this, entries for the next year will only be cancelled if they are informed by registered letter 3 months before the publication period expires & you will be invoiced for one more year! We did not ask for this service! I have e-mailed them to NOT include us & how deceitful we feel this practice is. I tried to submit it on the BBB site referral for international companies but it was missing boxes for information & wouldn't let it be completed. Is there anything more we can do to report this?
