AT& T Long distance - unable to make long distance call - need to resolve problem

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on April 13, 2002:

I have two phone lines, one is for my regular use the other is for my fax machine, I have had a propblem with this for sometimes, I tried to fax and was told that I have been blocked from using this machine for long distance.

I finally got to an AT&T customer service here in Jacksonville, they own the local cable company and phone service, they informed me that I would have to call AT&T long distance, they also said that I owed a bill of $4.82 outstanding, I have gone back several months and my bills have been paid each month.

I do not see this phone number listed on my bills, If I owe them why have they not included it on my bills or sent me a special one to cover the fax. They have created a problem, and I am in the middle, with out the use of my fax machine!!!!!
