Reference Complaint #1 April 29, 2001

First of all, This complaint is completely bogus. I have been the manager of my family run business for almost three years. When I arrived here I was made aware of this complaint and I contact the consumer who posted this complaint, I explained that I had just returned to the business and that we take all complaints very seriously and that we wanted to see if there was anything that we could do for them. I asked them to furnish me with the brides name and wedding date and invoice information.

Upon, speaking to all the staff at the store including the owner, no one had any recollection of this situation. I received a return e-mail refusing to give me any of the information that I requested and it said that they have persued this all they are going to.

I therefore, had to conclude that this complaint was bogus, and I had to file it under consumer complaints unresolved. This is upsetting to us, because we definately take all of our complaints seriously and try to resolve them as best as possible.

We do not sell used wedding gowns or take gowns on consignment. If this situation had of been real and there was a manufacturer flaw we most certainly would have called the manufacturer on it and insisted that the gown be replaced.

If this consumer ever changes their minds and would like to give me some further information to better research this complaint I would still be willing to respond to it at any time. I do not like to see issues go unresolved.

WEDDING DRESS BLUES

Women's Clothing, Other

From: Jason Fielding Email User

Date: Saturday, April 28, 2001 08:02 AM On your way to buy a "new" wedding dress? CAREFUL!!! my soon to be wife is searching for a wedding dress. She heads off to Manotick Ontario to search for a dress. She finds one she likes and orders it 4 months before. Three weeks before the wedding she goes to pick it up and brings it home. She finds it stained and small rips are in the dress. She brings it to an alteration place and they specify that the dress is used! We only have 2 weeks left! She goes to the Manotick bridle shop to complain and they specify that the new dress will be ordered by next week.

One week until the wedding and no dress. She goes to another dress shop and finds another dress. They call up a dress manufacture to determine if Manotick bridle shop has ordered a dress - nop. We order a dress from this new shop. The dress shows up in 2 days.

The Manotick bridle shop has yet to appologize.

key:

~look for a place that has a moderate turn around in their articles

~look for a place is reasonably priced (don't get suckered by high prices)

~don't go to a small town hick shop owned by old folks (not that old folks are bad, but they are trying to maximize their returns before retirement)

~ don't shop in Manotick Ontario Canada - land of the rich in Ottawa Ontario. How do you think the rich get rich? (they are typically good at playing you and me the consumer)
