Sent To: Email User 4/9/2001 12:22:43 AM Dear Land Rover: a consumer posted the following e-message at Complaints.com. I bought a Land Rover Discovery in July 1997. Immediately I noticed a dent and some rust. The dealer promised to fix the dent but never got round to it. Strange noises appeared due to the fan belt and bearing by November 1997. Some months later rust started to appear on the roof and doors. Rubber seals were turning brown. The electric window motor had to be changed twice. Until now (2001) the upholstery of the four doors has been taken out at least 10 times!! Central locking system is faulty. The clutch pedal has a broken spring. In 1999 the dashboard came up from its glue and fittings. Problems keep cropping up and the local Maltese distributors and Land Rover International never offered any compensation even though I contacted them on several occasions. It is a pity that such an international company would let a faulty product out of its factories, and then shrug off all responsibility. Think twice before buying a Land Rover! Frank G, Malta
