Jenkins Hyundai of Leesburg (FL) - Dishonest and unethical sales practices

Product: New and Used Car Dealer

Company: Jenkins Hyundai of Leesburg (FL)

Location: 9145 US Highway 441

Category: Cars, Motorcycles, Boats, Vehicles

Negotiated via telephone/email a purchase of a specific used car for an agreed price. When I arrived at the dealership (1 hour drive from my home) to close the transaction, I was informed that they had "made a mistake" and the vehicle would cost $3,500 more than agreed to.

Entire "Online Sales" experience is a sham -- merely a means of luring prospective buyers into the showroom for the typical manipulative high pressure, marathon sales experience that auto dealers have been using and perfecting (?) for the past sixty years.

Prospective Buyer Beware. And remember that if they deal with you dishonestly before you give them your cash, they won't treat you or respect you any better afterwards.

I need to correct on of your comments.

The current auto sales experiance was documented in a good sales manual the copy I owned for a while was published in 1915. 99 years ago.

In those days your experiance would have been by Snail Mail, But yes same process and lies. It had a chapter on how to handle and get a customer through this situation, your "Sales Profesional" missed a couple steps, if he hadn't when you walked in the door you would have bought the car and felt you were treated fairly.
