Wayne Dalton no longer makes garage door openers. Searched web for replacement cable tension device and waynedaltonparts.com offers the device. Device was installed per instructions. Upon use with garage door opener, the device broke then caused the garage door to bind. The net result was a garage door off the rails and a burned up garage door opener. After the expense of having the door reset on the rails, rebalanced and a replacement garage door opener installed, they refuse to offer a refund because the cable tensioner was used and had failed. The $30 device failing caused a much more expensive repair.

After speaking with the company I was told that they only sell parts and there is no assurance that they will be usable on a Wayne Dalton system. I guess I mistakenly assumed that buying parts from WayneDaltonParts that they would be compatible with my Wayne Dalton system.

The loss of $30 is not big deal. However the resulting repairs caused by this device failure were painful. Lesson learned: make sure you are working directly with a reputable company and not some other individual using another firm's name in their web address.

I purchased a part from WayneDaltonparts.com and also had a bad experience..When I needed to return the part I was told to wait until I get a shipping label...Thinking, I was going to get a label with prepaid postage as many companies do, I get a label with just the address and where to send it back...No other instructions on how I could send it back...I go to UPS and it cost 20 dollars to send it back...When I told WayneDaltonpars.com they said just because, and I quote "stupid to send it back that way it was not their problem"..Then I was told I was getting a 15% restocking fee...When I called to complain about this the manager of the company screamed at me and called me a bitch and hung up...So a $69.00 part ended up costing me $10.00 for re-stocking, $20.00 for shipping and $10.00 for shipping it to me..So I ended up paying for 1/2 of the part that I probably should have kept and tossed out...This is a rip-off company, that will look to make money off of you no matter what...
