Herbergers - Questions asked when changing ny address

I called Herberger's credit card customer service to change my address because I moved recently. The automated system could not find my (new) street, so I was forwarded to a customer service rep. After telling her the address, she asked if I wanted "account assure"...something like that.....and I said I was not interested. She then said "Well, just to update our records, may I ask if you are unemployed, disabled, or retired?". I said "No,you may NOT ask that". Why in the world would they ask those kind of questions when I just called to update my address? It is totally ridiculous and a great invasion of privacy. I don't need a Herberger's card (I have plenty of credit cards)if I have to put up with that!!!
