Ameriprise - Life Insurance dropped

Company: Ameriprise
Location: Minneapolis, Mi, US
Category: Other
I took our a life insurance policy with then IDS. In 1987 I increased my policy. The policy premium has been paid every year. In February 2012 I received a six page letter with a sentence imbedded in the letter informing me that my new premium was $987.00 but no statement or return envelope was included. I went to my local agent who felt bad but couldn't do anything. My policy would be cancelled if I didn't pay, so I paid for three months. My agent said to save my money because Ameriprise is just trying to force me out because of my age. Now I have no life insurance.
