My father who is 84 bought a new chest freezer from Sears and scheduled delivery for 12/26. On the 26th there was a little bit of snow, so my father called Sears to determine whether deliver would still be made that day. He was told that the delivery crew was on delivery number two and he was the third on the list. So my father rushed to empty the contents of the chest freezer that he had and carried the 6 large coolers and 8 large bags of food upstairs to the garage where the new chest freezer was going to be located. Several hours later he called Sears back to find out how soon the delivery would be made and was told that they cancelled deliveries due to the snow. That would have been a fine answer on his first phone call, but at 84 he was put through a LOT of work for nothing...and they didn't even have the courtesy to call him back to say that the delivery would have to be rescheduled. They rescheduled delivery for the following Saturday and pulled the same trick on him...no show in spite of their promise of delivery. At this point it has been over a week and he has no idea if or when his new freezer will ever be delivered. That's a pretty unkind thing to do to an 84 year old man...but of course Sears doesn't really care. It's just another faceless sale to them.
