In May of 2010 I extended my contract to a 3 year contract to get a new phone. Up to that point every issue I had had was dealt with--sometimes after having to get the manager on the phone. The girl told me I could still do my usual vacation plan in the winter ($10 per month) since I am a snow bird and cant' use my phone down south unless I want extra-ordinary charges on my account. In the fall of 2010 I asked for the usual vacation disconnect and was told that the company no longer did that--I would have to pay $20 plus taxes and fees (so about $30) per month and the changes had taken place before I renewed the contract. I asked if they would honor the commitment given by the sales lady and they said no. I can either cancel my contract ($300) or pay the extra $20 per month over the next 3 winters ($360). Its unfortunate that we have money sucking cell phone companies here!
