On 7/26/2012 I went to see a podiatrist because my feet were hurting.The doctor prescribed orthotics for me.I have had orthotics in the past and were always covered by my insurance company.I then received a bill from the doctor.My insurance company Blue Cross Blue Shield aka Great Benefit,said it was not medically necessary.I guess pain is not reason enough.They said if I had diabetes or some other disease I would be covered.I was also informed this a new policy,but I was never notified of this change.Another case of big insurance companies sticking it to consumers......
