Monday October 3rd 2011.
At the end of August, 2011 this year, my wife phoned Sears Canada to
come out again and fix the two burners on our Whirlpool stove, plus the
lamp holder within it. We were told that a serviceman would be here on
September 9th to fix it, and were given a validation number of
7644702810432388. The serviceman showed up and didn't do anything, but
looked at the stove and told us he had to order parts for it.
We were then called and told he would be back on September 20th, almost
"4 weeks after the initial call to them"
When he showed up on September 27th he started to repair it, but found
the parts sent were incorrect to fix the switches, so he told me again
that we would have to wait until Monday of October 3rd.
I have just received another call from Sears who told me that I would
have to wait until next Tuesday, as the wrong parts had come in again. I
told her absolutely not, that we wanted the stove fixed and the service
carried out according to the policy we paid for.
She now tells me that they will send someone on Friday of this week
October 7th, 2011.
This is the worst in home service we have ever encountered from a
company operating in Canada, I would recommend that anyone purchasing
any appliances such as a stove, stay away from any service plan from
Sears, especially the store in Oshawa or Peterborough
Since they closed down the Peterborough service centre, all has gone to
the dogs in our area, they are trying to save money by using Oshawa as
their base service center.
We paid for a full year of service on two or three items, and have
really lost a couple of months service, due to the length of time this
is taking, its would be completely laughable, if it wasn't so dammed
frustrating!
