We purchased a 2005 Ford Freestar at Lasco Ford of Fenton, MI in August 2005. We purchased an exteded warranty through the dealership at the same time from Signet Financial Group. The warranty stated that if it was never used, the full amount would be refunded. The only work ever done on the vehicle was when it was still under the 36,0000-mile factory warranty.

Last fall, when we submitted paperwork to Signet for the refund, we were told we were ineligible because there was a charge on it. When the vehicle was in for maintainance while still under the factory warranty, Lasco Ford charged $36 to the extended warranty for use of a "courtesy" vehicle they loaned us while they waited for parts that were ordered for our Freestar. This was done without our knowledge or consent.

We have been going between Ford Motor Company and Lasco Ford for over two months trying to get this issue resolved and get our $2,100 refunded. All they are interested in doing is telling us they cannot help us and passing us off to each other.

Under no circumstances should you buy an extended warranty from Ford. I will never again purchase a vehicle from either Ford or Lasco even if they are the only manufacturer and dealership left in America.
