For seven years I was a directv customer. I canceled the service. The asked for me to return two receivers, one of which I bought from Best Buy for $100.00. Even thought I had a service equipment replacement policy. Best buy said I would not have to pay a rental fee. I was still charged the rental fee from directv. Directv claimed the receiver bought from best buy was still theirs and best buy was an agent of directv. I returned two receivers in one box. Directv claimed they only received one. Three times by phone directv said they would credit the account to a zero balance. One conversation was with a supervisor. Over two months after they last contact directv put me in collection for 47.99. The collection agency checked the balance to discover it was zero. Yet they continue to call to collect $47.99 as of 2/23/11.
