We recently stayed 05 days in Holiday Inn Lackland (San Antonio, Tx). Total bill was 618 USD. After checkout, I found Holiday Inn had added another charge to my credit card for 71 USD. After calling the hotel (We were already back in Europe) I was told the additional 71 dollar charge was for "stained towels". I attempted to contact management, they will not return phone calls. Corporate website advised the complaint had been sent to local management and they would contact me. No contact has been made. This is a scam, how on earth could towels be stained by simply drying off after taking a shower? I believe they knew we were from another country and wouldn't be able to fight this ridiculous charge, and they took advantage of that. By the way, the one clerk I spoke with stated the towels were destroyed after they couldn't be cleaned so I wasn't able to have a friend recover them to dispute this charge. I will never stay with Holiday Inn again after this experience.
